Playscheme
(Collaborative Project)
The Brief
Collaboratively research, design, develop and market a range of products that will help Playscheme progress into the marketplace with their USP (Quality).
Graphic designers need to remember this is a new branch for Playscheme and should be marketed accordingly.

For this brief, I worked on the branding and some of the interactive features of the product. Working as a team we designed cupboards of various sizes with different interactive elements. As there were two graphic designers in the group, we both decided to make a logo, so the client would have more choice.

On the left is my logo design, using an owl to symbolise wisdom and learning. I also created magnetic business cards to fit in with the products I designed for the cupboards.

The cupboard shows what it would look like if my logo was to be engraved into the wood. As my logo looks quite friendly, I thought it would be an extra feature for the children using the product to look at.

The designs I worked on had magnetic elements to them where the children could move them about without thinking. They were based around 'Mr Potato Head', so the children could make their own face and apply to their own personal cupboard. They were designed to help the children learn and take into account how different they look to one another - this would be highlighted when making themselves with the magnetic faces and features.

The images on the left show how some of the features could be put together to make faces, with different hair styles and facial features etc. There were also other shapes that could be used with the faces to add more individuality, i.e. bowtie.

The bottom image, (made by a fellow group member) shows how my designs would look when used on the product.
